Most translation engines (Google, Microsoft, DeepL) require an internet connection. Screen Translate also bundles offline ML Kit models that work without internet for major languages. OCR text recognition runs locally on your device, so privacy is preserved even when offline.
Screen Translate supports translation between 100+ languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, and many more. OCR recognition covers all major scripts (Latin, CJK, Cyrillic, Arabic).
OCR accuracy depends on screenshot quality. For clean text on solid backgrounds, accuracy exceeds 95%. For game UIs and complex backgrounds, we recommend the AI Enhanced Translation mode which post-processes OCR results for better context understanding.
